Structural characteristics
The cross-sectional form of box girder is box shaped, with a closed thin-walled section and high torsional stiffness, which can effectively resist positive and negative bending moments. The box girders of reinforced concrete structures are divided into prefabricated box girders and cast-in-place box girders. Prefabricated box girders are installed by bridge erecting machines, which can accelerate the progress of the project; Cast in place box girders are commonly used for large continuous bridges.
