Socket type fittings are fittings that connect pipes and fittings through sockets, commonly used in cast iron pipes and acid resistant ceramic pipes. The connection method is usually to insert one tube into the sleeve at the end of another tube, then fill the gap with hemp or asbestos rope, and insert adhesive (such as cement, acid resistant adhesive, etc.) to achieve the sealing purpose.
Classification and purpose
Socket fittings can be divided into the following categories according to their connection form:
● Socket welding connection (SW): Insert the steel pipe into the socket hole for welding.
● Butt welding connection (BW): Connect the pipeline to valves and fittings or other pipeline parts through fillet welds.
● Threaded connection (TR): Connecting pipes through threads.
● Curved double fusion socket connection: using curved double fusion technology for connection.
Plug in fittings are widely used in fields such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, electricity, aerospace, military, firefighting, metallurgy, shipbuilding, gas, nuclear power, and environmental protection. They are suitable for applications that can withstand high pressure and have precise dimensions.
Manufacturing standards and materials
The manufacturing standards for socket fittings include CJ/T 321-2010, ASME B16.11, HG/T 21634-1996, MSS SP-83, etc. Common materials include carbon steel (such as Q235, 20 #, A105), stainless steel (such as 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 321, 00Cr17Ni14Mo2), and polypropylene (PP).
